Coming
of Age Passage Programs
As early as ages 11 - 13, girls'
bodies are changing and they begin to explore who they are as
emerging young women. Girls have more independence and begin to
make important decisions. Their peer relationships and new love
interests have more power in their lives. They
have questions. These coming of age girls want to mark this change
and explore personal identity and future goals. It is a natural
stage throughout all cultures. |

Coming
of age
mentorship programs are being recognized as potent and meaningful
foundations to create more stable, conscious and responsible young
adults who are then more prepared and skilled at navigating choices
about education, career, marriage and family. Adolescence happens
and youth need to individuate and find their identity independent
of their parents. They will choose their own “role-models”
from among their peers, public personalities, mentors and other
adults in their lives.
Girls Initiate provides
a venue where adolescent girls can focus on their journey into
young womanhood... where we support them in empowered and life-affirming
choices.
To begin this process, a girl needs to initiate her
Passage-Circle in 4 steps:
Step 1 Collective Conversation
Step 2 Girls Initiate
Step 3 Girls Invite
Step 4 Girls Create a Passage-Circle
